Finn Thomson Tamnavulin 33 Year Old (70cl, 50.7%)

This is a 33-year-old Tamnavulin from Finn Thomson's Private Cask Collection, bottled at 50.7% in a 70cl bottle and presented in a display cask. It was filled into a refill hogshead on 1 March 1991 and bottled on 11 March 2024, giving 246 bottles. The cask was filled a few years before the distillery was mothballed; it did not reopen until 2007. Tamnavulin was built in the 1960s, during the blended whisky boom, and its older style was malty and light. Over the decades the hogshead has let malty, cereal notes develop gradually, with honey and brown sugar alongside a nutty cereal character.
