This is a single cask Speyside single malt from Tamdhu, distilled in 2007 and matured for sixteen years in a sherry cask. It was bottled by Hunter Laing & Co. for the First Editions series at a cask strength of 52.1%, in a 750ml bottle, without chill filtration.
The nose brings sultanas, dates and figs, then dark chocolate, orange peel, roasted almonds, vanilla and honey over toasted oak. The palate is full-bodied and sweet, with toffee, spiced apple, fruitcake, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg, plus dark chocolate and a little smoke. The finish is long and warming, with sweetness, baking spice and toasted oak.
