Four Roses Kentucky Straight Bourbon, also known as the Yellow Label, comes from the Four Roses Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. It is bottled at 40% (80 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
It blends all ten of the distillery's recipes, made from two mashbills and five proprietary yeast strains. The youngest whiskey in the blend is at least 5 years old, and older barrels are included.
The nose is fresh pear, light floral notes, gentle spice and honey. The palate brings orchard fruit, apple, honey and toasted barrel with subtle spice from the high-rye mashbill. The finish is soft and smooth, fading gently.
