Four Roses – Original Kentucky Straight Bourbon (70cl, 40%)

This is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Four Roses, made at the distillery in Lawrenceburg, and bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The brand's history reaches back to the 1880s. The distillery uses two mash bills and five proprietary yeast strains, giving ten bourbon recipes, all matured on site in single-storey warehouses. This bottling marries all ten, after a minimum of five years' rest. The nose is floral, with gentle spice and honey. The palate is crisp and fruity, with pear and orchard apple. The finish is smooth and long.
