Four Roses – Single Barrel Bourbon (70cl, 50%)

A single barrel Kentucky bourbon from Four Roses Distillery in Lawrenceburg, bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Each bottling is drawn from one cask rather than a blend of many. It uses the OBSV recipe, a high rye mash bill paired with a yeast associated with delicate fruit and spice. The barrels are hand-selected by master distiller Brent Elliott and matured at Cox's Creek in single-storey warehouses. The nose brings dried spice, pear, cocoa, vanilla and maple syrup. The palate is rich and fruity, with ripe plum, morello cherry and prune, and the finish is long and smooth, with oak, chocolate and butterscotch.
