Four Roses – Small Batch Bourbon (70cl, 45%)

Four Roses Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 70cl bottle at 45% ABV. It is made by blending four of the distillery's ten recipes, which come from two mashbills and five yeast strains. One mashbill is 75% corn, 20% rye and 5% malted barley; the other is 60% corn, 35% rye and 5% malted barley. Batches typically use barrels of six to seven years old, none younger than six, aged in single-storey rickhouses. The barrels are charred for 45 seconds. The nose has oak, citrus fruit and a hint of spice over caramel. The palate is creamy and delicate, with oak, summer fruit, cherries, caramel and rye spice.
