Case Study: 07 French Connection is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Frank August, in a 75cl bottle at 53.7% ABV. It is a blend of seven barrels of Kentucky straight bourbon and rye whiskies, finished in Calvados, Martinique rhum and Caribbean rum casks. The strength of 107.4 proof nods to 4 July 1884, the date France presented the Statue of Liberty to the United States. The nose combines baked apple, pear compote and stone fruit with toasted coconut, vanilla cream, molasses and caramelised banana. On the palate come orchard fruit, brûléed sugar, spiced rum and baked pineapple, with clove, cinnamon and cracked pepper from the rye. The finish is long, with brown sugar, dried tropical fruit, soft oak and citrus peel.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
