Frey Ranch Estate Distilled Bourbon (75cl, 45%)

Frey Ranch Estate Distilled Bourbon is a four-grain bourbon made on a 2,500-acre ranch in Fallon, Nevada, and bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The corn, winter rye, winter wheat and malted barley in the mashbill are all grown on the ranch, and the barley is malted there too. The mashbill is 66.6% corn, 11.4% rye, 10% wheat and 12% malted barley. Distillation is on a custom Vendome hybrid still that combines pot and continuous column methods. The nose brings black and Rainier cherries, oak and citrus, with a sourdough tang. The palate is velvety, with vanilla and caramel, then dried mint and candied orange. The finish is long, with cedar, black pepper and treacle.
