Fuyu Blended Whisky Mizunara Finish (70cl, 45%)

Fuyu is a Japanese blended whisky, and its name is the Japanese word for winter. It is made from half malt and half grain whisky, matured for at least three years in American white oak barrels and then finished for six months in Mizunara barrels. Mizunara oak has naturally high moisture and is highly permeable, which gives the aromas that mark Japanese whiskies matured in it. It is bottled at 45% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The colour is golden brown. Honey, apricot and caramel lead on the nose, pear and apple come with a fresh attack on the palate, and the finish has jammy fruit and a touch of caramel.
