Gibson's Finest 12 Year Old is a Canadian blended whisky made in Windsor, Ontario, from aged corn, rye and malt whiskies. The brand dates from 1837 and is now part of William Grant & Sons. The blend spends twelve years in freshly emptied Kentucky bourbon barrels, and its colour runs from pale to medium gold. On the nose there is dried and canned pear, peach, crème brûlée, butterscotch, golden raisin and soft oak spice. The palate is sweet and silky, with vanilla, caramel corn and candied pear, then burnt caramel, pepper, lemon zest and candied citrus peel. The finish is drying, with lingering pepper and floral tones.
