This is a Pineau de Charentes from Gilles Brisson, a house better known for its Cognac. Pineau is made by blending grape must with young Cognac, and the house developed its own version of it.
It is a pleasantly sweet fortified wine, served as an aperitif or alongside desserts such as cake and ice cream. In France it is also enjoyed after dinner. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 17% vol.
