Glaschu Spirits Co Islay Single Malt 15 Year Old (70cl, 50%)

This is a 15 year old Islay single malt from Glaschu Spirits Co, the independent bottler's final release of 2023. The whisky comes from a distillery on Islay's southern coast, between Lagavulin and Port Ellen. It is peated and matured in bourbon casks. It is bottled at a cask strength of 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The nose brings smoked dunnage, bacon, sea air, brine and citrus zest. The palate has cereal sweetness, smoky and salty barbecued meat, green apple and lemon. Sweet, smoke and spice share a good length of finish.
