This is a six-year-old single malt from The Glasgow Distillery's Small Batch Series, finished in Amarone wine barriques. It is a limited edition in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 53%.
The whisky spent five years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, then more than 18 months in Italian Amarone barriques. Only 1,060 bottles were released.
The nose is fresh and fragrant, with ripe strawberry, juicy cherry and soft toffee. Vanilla, rich berry fruits and confectionery sweetness lead the palate, and the finish carries strawberry, vanilla cream, dark chocolate and gentle earthy spice.
