Glasgow 1770 Peated is a Lowland single malt from The Glasgow Distillery Company in Hillington, Glasgow. It is made from 100% malted barley peated to 50 PPM with Highland peat and distilled in copper pot stills.
The whisky was matured first in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, then finished in virgin oak. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtration or artificial colouring.
The nose has campfire smoke, heather peat, dried orange peel and roasted coffee bean. The palate is full-bodied, with dark berries, sweet tobacco, salted caramel and earthy smoke. The finish is long and warming, with smouldering ash, citrus zest and dry wood spice.
