Glasgow 1770 The Original is the first release from The Glasgow Distillery Company, which brought single malt distilling back to the city. It is made from unpeated Scottish malted barley and distilled in copper pot stills.
The whisky is matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and finished in virgin oak. It is bottled at 46% without chill filtration or added colouring.
The nose brings green apple, pear, honey, vanilla and shortbread. On the palate there is poached pear, orange zest and buttered brioche with warm oak spice, and the finish is medium, with malted barley, citrus peel and gentle dry spice.
