Glen Albyn – 42 Year Old 1980/2023 Dram Takers Collection Refill Sherry Cask #2327

This is a 42 year old Glen Albyn, distilled in 1980 and bottled in 2023 by Gordon & MacPhail for its Dram Takers Collection. It was distilled three years before the Highland distillery closed. The whisky matured in a refill sherry puncheon, cask #2327, and only 77 bottles were filled. The label draws on the art of the Book of Kells. The nose is a complex mix of dark fruit and fine, dry spice. The palate balances ripe fruit with a gentle sweetness, and the finish is long and elegantly dry.
