Refill sherry puncheon
A 43 year old Highland single malt from Glen Albyn, the Inverness distillery founded in 1846 and closed in 1983. Gordon & MacPhail drew it from a single refill sherry puncheon from 1979 for its Private Collection, Recollection Series 2. It is bottled at a cask strength 56.4% in a 70cl bottle, one of 95. Private Collection whiskies are chosen by members of the Urquhart family. The nose is described as roast coffee and fruitcake, with subtle spice, beeswax polish, treacle toffee, charred oak and dark chocolate truffle. On the palate are dried fig, dark cherries and orange peel, then dark chocolate and cracked black pepper. The finish is full bodied, with oak and liquorice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
