A 14 year old single malt from Glen Garioch in Oldmeldrum, distilled in 2011 and aged in a single Oloroso butt. Berry Bros. & Rudd bottled it for its The Auld and the Bold Collection, without chill-filtration or artificial colouring.
The nose offers warm walnut skins, buttered raisin loaf and dark chocolate, with a brief flicker of struck match. On the palate it deepens into richer cocoa, raisins steeped in syrup and a thread of Madagascan vanilla.
The finish is long, with roasted nuts and bittersweet chocolate.
