This is Glen Garioch 15 Year Old, a Highland single malt from one of Scotland's oldest distilleries. It was matured in Oloroso sherry casks and is bottled at 53.7% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is freshly baked, buttered hot cross buns with sultanas, cinnamon and mixed citrus peel, over warm dough with sweet apricot and honey glaze. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with raisin brioche, sugar glaze and nutmeg-spiced orange peel. The finish is long, with raisins, dates and warm buttered toast.
