Glen Garioch 15 Years is a Highland single malt that spent all 15 years maturing in ex-Oloroso sherry casks. It was bottled at 53.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was founded in 1797.
The nose recalls an apricot tart dusted with cinnamon, with orange blossom honey, juicy raisins, lemon zest, spiced sherry, chocolate and herbs. The palate is full and velvety, with raisin buns, caramelised orange, nutmeg and black pepper, starting dry and turning sweeter. The finish is long, with dates, buttered toast, raisins, dark chocolate and a gentle sweetness.
