A single cask Glen Garioch, 18 years old and bottled by Blind Summit Whisky at 52.6% in a 50cl bottle. It spent its first seventeen years in one Oloroso cask, then was re-racked into a second Oloroso cask for the final year to add more Oloroso character.
The colour is a rich orange. Quince and red apple skin on the nose lead into honey, beeswax and orange blossom, with lanolin waxiness, toasted herbs and a little charred pine. The palate is oily, with bergamot, orange rind, honey and polenta cake with marmalade. The finish is long and dry, closing on bitter orange amaro.
