A 1975 Glen Garioch from the Eastern Highlands, bottled in 1988 by Duthie for Samaroli as part of the Fragments of Scotland series. It is 12 years old and 50% ABV, one of 648 bottles in 75cl.
The nose opens spirity before turning perfumed, peaty and smoky, with vegetal peat that becomes maritime, alongside seaweed, fireplace, tar and a touch of rubber. The palate has peat, pepper and ginger, then gentian, liquorice root and tea, with an earthy, leafy character. The finish is long, peaty and earthy.
