This is a single cask Glen Garioch distilled in 1988, before the distillery closed in 1995, when peated barley was still used there. Hunter Laing bottled it at 31 years old for the Old & Rare series, at a natural cask strength of 49.1% ABV. The peat has mellowed into a gently herbal, tea-like character, supported by fruit and chocolate notes. The whisky is dark gold in colour. The nose is herbal, with gingerbread, black tea and cocoa powder. On the palate come oranges, stewed apples and a hint of Turkish Delight, followed by a long, grassy finish with a touch of coffee.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
