This is a nine year old Glen Garioch, distilled on 22 October 2014 and bottled on 24 January 2024. It is Release EXP1064 and the ninth bottling in Claxton's Exploration Series. The whisky matured in a single Tawny Port barrique.
The nose is described as intense, with plums, raisins and icing sugar, plus a touch of Danish pastry. The palate is rich and fruity, with plenty of raisins in syrup and strudel. The finish is sweet and warming, and the raisin note lingers for a long time.
