This is a 31 year old Glen Garioch from the eastern Highlands, chosen by The Single Malts of Scotland for its Director's Special bottling. It comes from a single cask at a cask strength of 57.3% ABV, unfiltered and without added colour.
The nose combines ripe apple, pear and sweet grapes with freesia and heather, and a touch of honey. On the palate there are soft oats and cinnamon spice, with expressive oak notes. The finish is long, with fruit and gentle wood spice.
