A 36 year old Glen Garioch single malt, distilled on 18th April 1988 and matured in a bourbon barrel until it was bottled on 15th January 2025. Finn Thomson Whisky bottled it for its Private Cask Collection at natural cask strength, in a release of 110 bottles.
The spirit was filled while Glen Garioch still made a peated style, before the distillery moved to unpeated production in the 1990s. After this long in the cask, only a gentle wisp of smoke remains.
It is described as savoury, with smoked nuts, cured meats and brown butter, and an oily mouthfeel.
