The Renaissance Chapter 1 is a Glen Garioch single malt released in 2014, the first release in the four-part Renaissance series. It was matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, and 12,000 bottles were produced at 51.9% ABV.
The nose has warm malt, vanilla, stewed fruit and subtle spice. The palate is rich and full, with toffee, dried apricot, honey, oak and soft spices. The finish is long and warming, with sherry notes and a hint of pepper.
