Glen Grant – 1987 5 Year Old (70cl, 40%)

This is a Glen Grant single malt aged five years, distilled in 1987 and bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was imported to Italy by Seagram Italia, which owned the distillery at the time. Vintage Glen Grant 5 Year Old bottlings were very popular in Italy, beginning in 1971 with a Glen Grant 5 Year Old 1966. That popularity eventually led to Gruppo Campari buying the distillery in 2006. The previous Italian importer, Armando Giovinetti, recognised that a young whisky would appeal to compatriots who were more used to drinking grappa.
