This 1995 Glen Grant is a 30 year old Speyside single malt, matured in a bourbon barrel (cask 88234) and bottled at 48.7% as a Symington's Choice selection.
The bourbon cask is said to bring out the spirit's elegant, fruity side, adding a discreet sweetness and well-integrated oak.
The nose combines vanilla, honey, ripe apple and pear with a touch of citrus and light oak. The palate is soft and rounded, with layers of tropical fruit, caramel, vanilla and fine spices, followed by a long, fresh and lightly creamy finish.
