Glen Grant – 5 Year Old 1981 (70cl, 40%)

This is a Glen Grant 5 Year Old distilled in 1981, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It was imported into Italy by Seagram Italia, then the owner of the distillery. Vintage bottlings of Glen Grant 5 Year Old were very popular in Italy, beginning with a 5 year old 1966 launched in 1971. That popularity eventually led to Gruppo Campari buying the distillery in 2006. Armando Giovinetti, the previous Italian importer, recognised that a young whisky would appeal to compatriots more used to drinking grappa.
