Glen Scotia – 12 Year Old 1st Fill Bourbon Casks (70cl, 46%)

A twelve-year-old Campbeltown single malt from Glen Scotia, matured entirely in first-fill bourbon casks and bottled at 46%. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. Glen Scotia was founded in Campbeltown in 1832 and has belonged to the Loch Lomond Distillery Company since 1996. The bourbon casks bring honeyed vanilla, caramelised sugar, tropical fruit and toasted oak, with sea air, cinnamon and nutmeg as maritime and spicy counterpoints. The nose is clear sea air, honeyed vanilla and tropical fruit. On the palate, caramelised sugar, citrus and pineapple join toasted oak and maritime touches. The long finish fades with cinnamon and nutmeg.
