Glen Scotia Double Cask is a single malt from Campbeltown, made at one of the smallest malt whisky distilleries in Scotland. The distillery's story begins in the 19th century, and it still keeps much of its original design, including the fermenters, the stillroom and a dunnage warehouse dating from the 1830s.
The nose opens with peach flesh and green apple peel, then vanilla fudge, a hint of salinity and oaky spices with some char. The palate is powerful and oily, with more fudge, a dusting of powdered sugar and a touch of herbaceousness. Sherried notes come through more on the finish.
