This is Glen Scotia Classic Series No. 2, titled The Second Unveiling, a heavily peated single malt from Campbeltown. It was distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2026 at a cask strength of 56.7%, with no added colour and no chill-filtration.
It comes from a single cask, number 1966, a first-fill bourbon barrel that gave 243 bottles. The distillery devotes only about one month a year to peated whisky, and this release draws on those peated stocks.
The nose offers malted biscuits, melted brown sugar and salted caramel, with fresh cinnamon pastry and smoke. Whipped cream and orange peel sit beside the sweet peat, and warming oak spice rounds out the profile.
