Glen Scotia – 12 Years Icons of Campbeltown Release No.3 (70cl, 51.7%)

This is the third release in Glen Scotia's Icons of Campbeltown series, in which each edition is inspired by a saint or mythical creature carved into the surface of the cross. Release No. 3 is dedicated to the wolf and the Scottish legend of the Wulver, with artwork by Joel Holzman. It is an unpeated 12 year old single malt, matured for nine months in tawny port casks and bottled at cask strength, 51.7%, in a 70cl bottle. Berries, candied nuts and crisp red apple on the nose are wrapped in caramel sweetness. Dried fig, orange peel and creamy praline lead the palate, and the finish brings dark cocoa, dried fruit, soft vanilla and warming oak spice.
