Glen Scotia 15 Years is a Campbeltown single malt bottled at 46%. It was matured in American oak casks chosen for the purpose before bottling.
The nose shows vanilla oak with subtle sea spray and spicy fruit.
Citrus peel and ginger biscuits come through as well, along with apricot that turns to fruit salad; a little water brings out baked fruit. The palate opens with ripe fruit before turning surprisingly dry, and with water the caramelised notes appear alongside the wood. The finish is medium in length, firm and lightly dry.
