Glen Scotia 21 Year Old Second Edition is a single malt from Campbeltown, bottled at 46% ABV without chill-filtering and with natural colour.
It was matured in a combination of refill bourbon barrels and refill American oak hogsheads, then married and finished for six months in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose is sweet, perfumed Oloroso with spiced red apple and peppercorns. On the palate come baked red apples, plump raisins, clove, star anise and cinnamon, alongside soft vanilla, toffee and sea spray. The finish is long and balanced, with lingering sea salt and dry sherry.
