This is a 24 year old Campbeltown single malt from Glen Scotia, bottled by Murray McDavid in its Benchmark range. It was matured in a bourbon barrel and a sherry hogshead, then finished in a Vosne-Romanée red wine barrique.
The outturn was 331 bottles at 46% abv, in a 70cl size.
The nose is juicy, fragrant plums with honeyed fried fruits, polished furniture and praline. The palate brings plum sauce, chocolate, bitter caramel, red apple skin and brown sugar. The finish has aromatic plum, cooked apple, cedar and peach.
