This is a 25 year old single malt from Glen Scotia in Campbeltown, in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in American oak barrels and married in first-fill bourbon casks before bottling. It won Best in Show at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The nose is bracing, with an Atlantic breeze and a strong maritime character. The palate brings coastal air, red apple and tangy orange peel, with vanilla syrup and caramel sweetness. The finish is long, with lingering sea salt and a spicy note of ground ginger.
