A limited bottling from Glen Scotia for the Campbeltown Malts Festival 2025. This nine-year-old single malt is bottled at cask strength, 54.3% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
It was distilled from heavily peated malt and first matured in first-fill bourbon casks. It then spent at least five months in red wine casks from Ribera del Duero, which add a fruity side to the maritime smoke.
The nose is smoky and fruity-spicy, with fine vanilla and toffee. The palate is maritime, with peat smoke, tropical red wine notes, gentle oak and spice. The finish is long, deep and complex, as tropical fruit gives way to blackberries and a touch of liquorice.
