This is a Campbeltown single malt from Glen Scotia. It was matured in bourbon barrels and then finished in first-fill Guyanese Demerara rum barrels.
The rum casks have a local history: Glen Scotia has records from 1815, before the distillery was founded, showing casks of rum for sale in the town.
The flavour is led by thick molasses, joined by desiccated coconut, banana, vanilla, nutmeg and stone fruits. It ends with an aromatic spice finish.
