Glen Scotia – Icons of Campbeltown No.3 12 Year Old (51.7%)

This is the third release in the Icons of Campbeltown series from Glen Scotia, a 12 year old single malt from Campbeltown named The Wulver, after a figure from local folklore. The series takes its inspiration from the saints and beasts of the Campbeltown Cross, and the label artwork is by Joel Holtzman. The whisky matured first in first-fill bourbon casks and was then finished in first-fill tawny port casks. It is bottled at a cask strength of 51.7% ABV, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The port finish is described as bringing dark fruit, sweet chocolate and a maritime saltiness.
