This is a 17 year old GlenAllachie Speyside single malt, finished in ex-solera sherry casks and bottled in 2024 at 58.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is a distillery exclusive edition.
The finish used five antique butts that had spent 55 years as part of a solera system. Before that they had held rich Pedro Ximenez, a naturally sweet sherry style made from overripe white grapes that are sun-dried to concentrate the sugars.
GlenAllachie was built in 1967 and is now run by The GlenAllachie Distillers Company, which is developing it as a distillery known for a big, fruity malt whisky.
