Glencadam 15 Year Old Madeira Cask Finish is a single malt distilled in 2008 and first matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks. It is sold in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky from those casks was married and then finished in Madeira wine casks from Portugal's Madeira Islands.
The nose offers butterscotch, ginger biscuits, caramelised pecans, dried pineapple and baking spices. On the palate come peach cobbler, golden syrup, crème caramel, toasted walnuts, praline and candied peel. The finish recalls brandy butter, honey cake and salted caramel, leaving a glow of dark chocolate and cinnamon.
