Glencadam – 15 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

This is a 15-year-old single malt from Glencadam, a small distillery in the town of Brechin in the eastern Highlands. It belongs to the distillery's standard range and is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtering or added colour. The whisky matured for its full time in ex-bourbon casks, which give a gentle oak character, sweet malt and a hint of citrus. Tasting notes describe a fruity, sweet nose with vanilla, citrus, a little salt and roasted nuts. The palate is creamy and sweet, with panna cotta, dried apples, a nutty touch and cocoa powder. The finish is long and sweet, with vanilla custard and a little cinnamon.
