This is a 27 year old single malt from Glencadam, distilled in 1996 and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The spirit first matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks. The Master Distiller married these and then finished the whisky in Oloroso sherry butts from Jerez in Spain.
The nose offers praline, caramelised almonds and cocoa powder with cooked fruits, Manuka honey and sweet cinnamon. On the palate come Swiss chocolate and butterscotch, sultanas, tobacco, spiced apples and wood spices. The finish carries dates and chocolate fudge cake, fading to espresso and roasted nuts.
