Glencadam – American Oak Reserve (40%)

This is a Highland single malt from Glencadam, bottled at 40% ABV. It was matured in ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak, which bring vanilla notes alongside the fruity character of the distillery. Glencadam was founded in 1825 in Brechin, and the whisky rests in the distillery's dunnage warehouses. The nose offers vanilla custard, sweet raisins, malt and tropical fruit. The palate is soft and velvety, with juicy pineapple, ripe pear, roasted chestnuts and a touch of chocolate. The long finish returns to the fruit, with cinnamon and gentle oak spice.
