A single malt from Glencadam, founded in 1825 and the only remaining distillery in Brechin on the east coast of Scotland. This is the American Oak Reserve, in a 70cl bottle.
It is matured in ex-bourbon barrels. Glencadam is a large part of blends such as Ballantine's, and Angus Dundee, which also owns Tomintoul, took ownership in 2003.
The character is light and slightly floral, with creamy vanilla from the barrels and a spicy edge to the finish from the young spirit.
