Glendronach – 1994 26 Year Old Single Oloroso Puncheon Cask (2020) (70cl, 51.4%)

This is a 26 year old Glendronach single malt from the Highlands, distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2020 at 51.4% from a single Oloroso puncheon. It is non-chill filtered and takes all its colour from the cask. The nose is rich and rounded, with treacle toffee, sherry, butterscotch, orange peel and baked apples, along with cherry liqueurs, plum skins and chocolate-covered walnuts. The palate suggests stewed apples, candied grapes, mocha and treacle, with brambles, black cherries, cranberries and lingering baked oranges.
