GlenDronach Ode to the Embers is a Highland single malt that sets peat smoke alongside sherry cask character. Oloroso casks dominate, adding spiced complexity, and Pedro Ximénez casks add richness. It is bottled at 48.4% ABV.
Cinnamon-spiced toffee, apple and caramelised walnut brittle meet flamed orange on the nose, like a smouldering open fire. The palate brings raisin, honeyed walnut, bramble ganache and smoked chocolate fudge, and the finish is long, with sweetness, oak and peppery spice.
