The GlenDronach – Port Wood 10 Year Old (75cl, 46%)

The GlenDronach Port Wood is a ten-year-old single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle. After its first maturation, the whisky spent a further three years in port pipes, a reference to the casks of port that were shipped into Scotland during the 19th century. The result is a fruit-led malt with layers of ripe berries and a long, lingering finish, and an intense cherry wood colour in the glass. The nose offers Victoria plum, bramble and strawberry jam, with cherry blossom, honeysuckle, sandalwood and ginger. On the palate come blackberry, roasted apple crumble and gingerbread, moving towards baked orange and black cherry.
